Alaska cruises include a pass by some tidewater glaciers including Glacier Bay, Hubbard Glacier. Tidewater glaciers are a type of glacier that flows directly into the sea and can calve violently into the water. Passing through the Inside Passage, the most popular cruises visit areas like Strait of Georgia, and Tracy Arm. With a few exceptions at Haines, Hoonah, and Sitka, cruises also visit Ketchikan, Skagway, or Juneau.
Alaska is aslo home to the Tongass National Forest, which is the largest national forest in the whole country. As part of Tongass National Forest, the Alexander Archipelago is a collection of about 1,100 islands stretching along Alaska’s southeast coast.
