Peril Strait, also known as Háat Ishkáak, is a narrow passageway between the islands of the Alexander Archipelago in southeast Alaska. Baranof Island and Catherine Island are to its south, and Chichagof Island is to its north. The 50-mile-long Peril Strait connects Salisbury Sound in the west to Chatham Strait in the east and is a twisted channel famed for spectacular currents. The entire area is contained within the boundaries of Sitka.
