When it comes to tidewater glaciers, the LeConte Glacier is the furthest south you’ll find one in the Northern Hemisphere. Shooters on LeConte Glacier are famous for their high activity. Underwater calving of a glacier produces icebergs that can reach the surface with great speed. The Stikine Ice Field, of which LeConte Glacier is a portion, reaches from the other side of the mountains into the Stikine River basin.
